The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Universe Steps Off-Screen to Help Demine the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone

From the virtual wastelands of Chornobyl to the real-life nightmare of what russian forces left behind—GSC Game World is partnering with UNITED24 once again. 

Real mines. Real lives. Real impact. 

Last year, the game developer joined UNITED24 to raise $120,000 for the Bring Light Back campaign to equip Ukrainian schools with power generators. 

Now, GSC Game World and UNITED24 are teaming up once again, featuring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, to raise $100,000 to help clear deadly landmines from the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

On the very first day of the full-scale invasion, russian forces seized the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and occupied the Exclusion Zone. Following the liberation of the Zone by Ukrainian forces, withdrawing russian troops left behind countless mines, tripwires, and booby traps. To this day, the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone remains heavily contaminated by landmines, with an estimated 95% of its territory still mined.
